If you book a St. Petersburg tour during late June or early July you will experience the Midnight Sun, the phenomena when the sun does not entirely set at night. While St. Petersburg and Moscow dip into winter by September, the more southern Rostov-on-Don and Astrakhan blossom in beautiful golden displays of autumn.
